Second 2-Year-Old Dies In Sterling Pool Drowning

A 2-year-old boy died two days after his twin sister following an incident Saturday at a Sterling residential pool: LCSO

STERLING, VA — A 2-year-old boy who was found unconscious in a family pool Saturday along with his 2-year-old twin sister has died, a couple of days after his sister perished, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office. Both ultimately drowned. Lost were Liam Aristhomene and his sister, Kayden.

Shortly before 10:45 p.m., police and a rescue unit responded to the scene, where the children's mother found them unconscious in the pool at Acorn Court. Both were taken to the Lansdowne Campus of Inova Loudoun Hospital, where the girl died Saturday.

A spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office told WTOP that while an investigation continues, "all indications are this was a tragic accident." The spokesman didn't name the children's mother because she faces no criminal charges.
