The Stone Bridge Rowing Team from Ashburn, Virginia finally made its 2023 debut at the Ted Phoenix regatta at Sandy Run Regional Park this weekend. Four crews attended, but the race was unfortunately cut short by lightning. After patiently waiting through numerous delays, our Men's Novice 4+ made it to the dock just as the race was suspended. They, along with the varsity girls, will make their season debuts this weekend.
Earlier in the morning the Men's Junior 8+ showed off an impressive sprint, walking through several crews and taking 2nd place in their final. This was the first race for three members of the crew who are novices, and the coaches were impressed with their composure and confidence going into the race.
The Women's Novice 8+ showed great poise and promise in their 4th place showing. They demonstrated they have the toughness and skill to find further success on the race course this season. The best is yet to come from this energetic group of athletes.

The final race of the day was the first Stone Bridge WIN of the season! The Men's Junior 4+ won their heat and advanced as a top seed to the final. Unfortunately the final was cancelled so they'll have to repeat this weekend's performance next week!
