Burke School Calendar 2019-20: Must Know Dates

BURKE, VA — As the summer flies by, the first day of school will approach quickly. Burke students will head back to classes on Monday, Aug. 26, the week before Labor Day.

To help you begin planning, we've rounded up a list of important Fairfax County Public Schools dates for the coming school year. That includes winter and spring vacations, holidays and ends of quarterly grading periods.

Here is the list of dates to know for this school year:

• First day of school: Aug. 26
• No school for Labor Day holiday: Aug. 30-Sept. 2
• No school for students: Oct. 14
• End of first quarter: Nov. 1
• No school for students: Nov. 4-5 (Election Day on Nov. 5)
• No school for Thanksgiving holiday: Nov. 27-29
• No school for winter break: Dec. 23-Jan. 3, classes resume on Jan. 6
• No school for Martin Luther King Jr. Day: Jan. 20
• End of second quarter: Jan. 24
• No school for students: Jan. 27-28
• No school for Washington’s Birthday and Presidents’ Day: Feb. 17
• No school for students: March 3
• End of third quarter: April 3
• No school for spring break: April 6-10
• No school for students: April 13
• No school for Memorial Day: May 25
• Last day of school and early release: June 12
