Velocity Wings In Fairfax Rebrands As Velocity Bar + Kitchen
Velocity Wings near George Mason University has changed names and concepts to Velocity Bar + Kitchen.

FAIRFAX, VA — Velocity Wings near George Mason University has changed its name and concept to Velocity Bar + Kitchen, according to Thompson Restaurants.
The restaurant remains at 10697 Braddock Road, where Velocity Wings has operated since 2019. The updated concept expands the restaurant from a wings-focused spot into a full-service dining format.
The menu still includes boneless, traditional and Velocity wings. Other menu items include buttermilk biscuits and honey, Bang Bang shrimp lettuce wraps, Alfredo pasta, BBQ baby back ribs, Warren’s Fine Fried Chicken & Waffles and a Cowboy Burger.

“People still want a place they can count on,” Alex Berentzen, chief operating officer of Thompson Restaurants, said in a statement. “Velocity has always had a loyal following because of the energy, the wings and the sense of community around it. What we’re doing now is building on that with a broader experience, great cocktails, more dishes and an atmosphere that works just as well for date night as it does for watching the game with friends or bringing the family out to dinner.”
The restaurant offers weekday happy hour from 3 to 6 p.m., with $6 bites, including Nashville hot chicken tenders and loaded nachos, along with $5 rail spirits, $5 beers and $6 wines.

Weekly specials include all-you-can-eat ribs on Mondays with a two-hour limit, Taco Tuesdays, all-you-can-eat wings on Wednesdays with a two-hour limit and a surf-and-turf feature on Thursdays.
Velocity Bar + Kitchen is open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.
Thompson Restaurants offers a 15 percent discount to active military members.
Thompson Restaurants was founded in 1992 and owns and operates restaurants in Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., Ohio and South Florida. The company is part of Thompson Hospitality and is led by President and Founder Warren Thompson.
