Relay For Life of Springfield/Burke

Join us for the 3rd Annual Relay For Life of Springfield/Burke.  Hundreds of your neighbors and friends are participating in this community-based, worldwide event to cure ALL forms of cancer!  As the American Cancer Society's marquee awareness and fundraising event, Relays are held in more that 5200 communities throughout the world!
We begin at 7:15pm with our Survivors' Lap, followed by Caregiver and Team laps. Team members take turns walking the track all night - a Relay of sorts - because Cancer Never Sleeps.
At 9:30pm the stadium lights will be turned down as we all walk the track during the poignant Luminaria Ceremony. The entire track will be encircled by luminary bags; each one dedicated in honor of someone who has fought or is fighting cancer, or in memory of loved ones lost.
Following the Luminaria Ceremony, we will have our first EVER "Marathon In Survivors' Shoes". 26 teams will be walking one mile and three paces while wearing a pair of shoes from a Survivor. At completion, we will have walked a combined 26.2 miles - the standard Marathon distance.
From midnight to 5am, registered participants will enjoy Laser Tag, a Kickball Tourney, Themed Laps, Giant Hamster Ball Races and an Angry Birds Live Action game!
Join us as we Celebrate Survivorship, Remember loved ones lost, and Fight Back against this disease which takes so much.
Relay is appropriate for people of all ages and physical abilities. Support your community by participating or making a donation!

Visit our webiste for more information, or to register for $10. No fundraising requirements, but every penny helps!
