Fairfax County Fire & Rescue and the Department of Public Safety Communications are once again conducting their annual Labor Day Weekend Fill the Boot Campaign to benefit the Greater Washington Muscular Dystrophy Association. Firefighters will be at controlled intersections throughout Fairfax County from Thursday, August 29th through Monday, September 2nd. All money collected during this campaign stays in the Washington, D.C. area to fund the annual MDA summer camp for children with neuromuscular disease, fund MDA clinics at Childrens National Medical Center and Georgetown University Hospital, to help stock and maintain the durable medical equipment loaner closet, and fund research to hopefully find cures and prolong the lives of people afflicted with some of the 43 neuromuscular diseases that MDA services.
So when you see the firefighters at intersections this weekend, drop some money in the boot because every little bit helps! Your donation helps keep Fairfax County number one in the nation for Fill the Boot campaigns!
