Man Charged For Filming Girl In Fairfax Changing Room

A man has turned himself in for filming a girl changing clothes at a Fairfax County mall.

FAIRFAX, VA—A man turned himself in and has been charged for filming a teenage girl trying on clothes at a Fairfax County mall.

Police had released surveillance images of the suspect after a 13-year-old girl said she was filmed inside a Hollister dressing room at the Fair Oaks Mall on Jan. 7. The girl noticed a cell phone filming her after hearing a noise from a nearby dressing room. The girl's mother notified store management, who told the police a man had been in the store around the time the filming happened.

Rudolph Doering, 50, of Bristow saw himself on TV and went to meet with detectives on Jan. 14. Police got a warrant for arrest Friday afternoon, and he turned himself in at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

He is charged with one count of attempted unlawful filming of a minor.

Detectives say the widespread sharing of images and cooperation of Hollister management helped complete the investigation. Police originally named Doering, pictured in the footage, as a person of interest rather than a suspect.
