The suspect is described as a white male who enters the store, demands money from a store clerk, implies he has a weapon and flees, police said.

The suspect typically wears a mask, according to police.

Robberies:

  • The first robbery took place at the Safeway on Oct. 26, 9596 Old Keene Mill Road, Burke at around 7:50 p.m.
  • The second occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 28 just after midnight at the Shoppers Food Warehouse store on 9274 Old Keene Mill Road.
  • The most recent crime took place at the Giant, just before midnight on Saturday, at 6011 Burke Center Parkway.

In Saturday’s case, fellow employees were able to thwart the robbery by yelling across the store to the clerk and checking on him. They were suspicious of what they saw and chased the suspect out of the store. One employee shoved an empty shopping cart at the suspect (watch video below).
