Being a Spiritual Person in Suburbia
As a new Patch blogger, I thought it would be helpful to share a bit of my background with readers.
The Harmonic Convergence happened in 1987. (For more on what this is, click here: http://www.radioastrology.com/TFG/HarmConv.htm) That same year my first husband died in a car accident. I was 25, he was 26, we had been married for six months.
My conscious spiritual journey began then, the same year as the Harmonic Convergence. How's that for timing? Since then I have married, been a mother, gotten divorced, worked at a few jobs, and learned an immense amount about spirituality, and what it means to live a spiritual life. All while living in Centreville, Va.
Most of my friends did not know that I lived this somewhat quiet yet active life of deep spirituality until a few years ago. I have been a certified Reiki Master for more than 10 years, and over the years have learned many other methods of Holistic Healing. I have been practicing them on family and close friends until about 4 years ago when I decided that it was time to help others, so I built my first web site, and "put it out there" only to find that not many people knew what Reiki was. Since then people have been listening more and more to their own souls' calling, and wanting to know more about why they are here, and what life really means. I am here to help open the door to the inner self, the soul.

I have been offered the opportunity to write and share my experiences, and I am grateful. I thought it would be helpful to share a little about myself as well. My web site is http://thefigleaf.net. Please visit it and you will know more about me and what I do.
