Happy Father's day

A husband is a best friend until a child is born.  

After that he is so much more.  He is the protector against all that is bad.  The squisher of giant gross spiders and all other bugs.  The knight that gets sent to investigate imaginary noises in the night.  The sounding board against all that could go bump in the night. The investigator of any dark spaces to make them not-scary.  

A mom’s job may be to be comforting and reassuring, and always there, but a dad’s job is so different.  Dads rarely get said “hi” to in the highlight reel, they rarely get the thanks during the graduation ceremonies, they often get scolded along with the kids...but only because their job is different. They must be protector, best friend, ally, and occasionally rule bringer. When they bring down the rules, sometimes there is confusion, because that’s not fun, and dads are the allies for fun.
