The Six-Year-Old's Halloween

Candy collecting at its finest!

This may be it. The Halloween of all Halloweens. The event where nothing scares you, and you have the stamina to collect your fair share of the loot from your neighborhood.

"I'm not scared" isn't even questioned. And, "I'm not tired, can I have this skittles?" is the mantra of the evening.

While my opinion may change next year, this year, without question, I believe that Halloween is ruled by 6 year olds.

We always carry a bag, to offload the heavy candy loot that gets collected, because after all, the fun in Halloween, is the action of Trick or Treating, not the outcome. Being distracted by lugging heavy burdens just takes away from the fun. This year, was the first year, where candy eating was in its proper place, second to the act of candy collection. Inventory was not even taken during the first hour of candy gathering this year, which is a feat in itself.

Without question, this Halloween was a success, without question!  One of my the memories I will cherish, is hearing, "Mommy, these are the ones you like," as an Almond Joy is presented after the taking.  Yes, my child knows my sweet spots for sure!

Happy Halloween!!
