13,000 years of history in our backyard.

We have many parks and natural landscapes around our area. , which is also known as Walney Park, is just one of them.

Did you know that "The land that became Walney has been occupied by humans for over 13,000 years?" This is according to the park's history webpage, which also has other really neat information. American Indians also passed through there a long time ago.

Some of the fun things to do at Walney Park are hiking, picnicking, fishing, having a birthday party, and visiting the old buildings. You can visit the dairy, spring house, ice house ruins, smoke house, outbuilding, bee hives, garden, amphitheater and the visitor center.
