Wildcats Bite Hornets in Concorde District Matchup
Wildcats defeat Hornets for first time since February 2008

In a game that is usually a very close one, the Wildcats took a big Concorde District matchup 58-53 Tuesday night. had not defeated Herndon since a 58-44 game on February 1, 2008.
The Wildcats were led by senior guard Robert Coker who scored 8 of his career 18 points in the 4th quarter while adding four rebounds. He shot a perfect 6-6 from the field including 4-4 from 3 point range. Junior Rahji Johnson had a huge game with 12 points, three assists, and two rebounds.
managed to hold Evan Fuller to four points and erased a 11 point deficit in the 4th quarter and even took the lead before Coker knocked down a big three point shot to help the Wildcats take the lead for good.

The Hornets were led by Patrick McLaughlin's 21 points and Dorian Johnson's 18. Ashkan Naderi who usually knocks down big shots against the Wildcats was shut down by the Centreville defense as they didn't allow him to score.
These games are the same every season: one teams gets a big lead, then the other team comes back to take the lead and then it is always a fight to the finish. This was the first time that the Wildcats were able to finish strong against the Hornets in a few years and helped them pick up a huge win in the district. These teams will play at Herndon on Jan. 31st.

Herndon (6-7, 1-1) will host (7-4, 1-1) on Friday night and the Wildcats (5-8, 1-1) will host their rival (11-3, 2-0). Both games are scheduled to tip-off at 7:30 PM.
In the JV game, Centreville defeated Herndon 50-42 and the Herndon freshmen defeated the Wildcats 61-44.
