Wildcats Edge Cougars in Concorde District Matchup
Wildcats take three games from Oakton Thursday night.

The and have had troubles throughout the season so far: both teams were 5-9 entering last night's game. The Wildcats who had nine players in uniform last night due to injuries were able to escape the "Cougar Den" with a 46-43 win. It was a fast start for the Wildcats who started the game on a 13-4 run and led by as many as 15 in the first half.
The biggest lead for Centreville in the second half was eight points and the score was tied 41-41 with 2:56 left. Sophomore Josh Smith hit a jump shot and the Wildcats played great defense to finish off the win. Every season when these two teams get together it is always a close game that is either decided at the end of regulation or in overtime. This one wasn't different.
Leading the Wildcats was Evan Fuller with 14 points (8-8 free-throws) including eight of the team's first 14 and Rahji Johnson with 11. Centreville shot 16-19 from the free-throw line. The Cougars were led by Dale Good (14) and Michael Fradette (11).

Centreville was led by Matt Sedlock who had 15 points including a buzzer-beater at the end of the third quarter to keep the game close.
The freshmen team's game was a close one that came down to a game-winning shot at the buzzer. The Wildcats led by 11 with 5:09 remaining in the fourth quarter but Oakton took the lead by one with several ticks left on the clock. Centreville came down the floor and Joe Ferrick fired a pass to AJ Turner who hit a layup. The ball went through the net as the buzzer sounded.
