Centreville Wildcats Lacrosse Now 4-1 For Season
Wildcats defeat TC Williams, but fall to Edison.

The Centreville High School varsity boys lacrosse team defeated TC Williams 13-4 in their second home game of the season.
Centreville had a good showing from several players, with Brett Clark, Kyle Richbourg, Andy Balberde, and Nathan Marks each scoring two goals apiece. Carson McEver, Tyler Vennergrund, Danny Meador and Sean Doyle each scored one goal during the game. Phil Anderson, Nathan Marks, Danny Meador and Kyle Richbourg all helped their fellow Wildcats with assists. Goalie Pat Prosser helped lead the strong Wildcat defense, with help from Antonio Choi and Ben Kandel throughout the game. This year’s varsity team is captained by seniors Antonio Choi, Andy Balberde and Jake Hyde.
Despite the biting cold weather, Centreville’s varsity boys lacrosse team overcame both the elements and the West Springfield Spartans, 10-7. Attack Nathan Marks, led the scoring with three goals, followed by Andy Balberde and Kyle Richbourg with two goals each.

Also contributing to the win were Tyler Vennergrund, David Weisbrodt, and Sean Doyle with one goal. Carson McEver, Andy Balberde, Brett Clark, Kyle Richbourg, and Tyler Vennergrund provided assists for the goals. Senior John Clements won several key face-offs; and Kainoa O’Connor was outstanding at LSM. Centreville’s defense proved key, with strong play from Jake Hyde, Antonio Choi and goalie Pat Prosser, who had several key saves.
Finishing out a week of lacrosse, the Wildcats suffered their first defeat of the season, falling to Edison High School, 10-7.

Centreville got off to a slow start during the first game of the Woodgrove Lacrosse Tournament, over spring break. At one point, the varsity Wildcats were down 7-1, hampered by several penalties.
However, they fought back, with key assistance from both offensive and defensive players. Two attack players, Danny Meador and Tyler Vennergrund, each contributed two goals to the offensive effort. Carson McEver, Andy Balberde and Nathan Marks each scored one goal during the game, and Kyle Richbourg, Danny Meador and Andy Balberde all had key assists. Phil Anderson and Sean Doyle had strong play at defensive Middie, with help from Kainoa O’Connor at LSM.
The CVHS boys varsity lacrosse team record now stands at four wins and one loss.
