Man Shoots Suspected Burglar In Centreville: Police UPDATE
UPDATE: A homeowner shot and injured someone he suspected of being a burglar Monday in Centreville, and intruder has been charged.

UPDATE: The intruder, identified Tuesday as Ethan Redd, 29, of Chantilly, has been charged with unlawful entry.
CENTREVILLE, VA—A homeowner shot and injured someone he suspected of being a burglar Monday morning in the 6300 block of Fairfax National Way, according to Fairfax County Police. The suspected burglar was hit twice and is being treated at a nearby hospital for injuries not considered life threatening.
Police say the two men appear to be strangers, and an investigation report will be presented to the Commonwealth Attorney to see whether charges are warranted.

Around 5 a.m., police responded to a reported burglary. The homeowner said he saw a man in his backyard, confronted him near the front porch and then fired several shots. Police are collecting evidence and conducting interviews. Anyone with information is urged to call police at 703-691-2131.
