American Muslim Community Celebrates Independence Day with Muslims for Loyalty Message
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA's all of 75 chapters celebrated Independence Day with Flag Hoisting Ceremony, National Anthem and BBQ.
Kids, Adults, Elderly and belonging to different faith, culture and political parties all joined together to celebrate 4th of July, the birthday of United States of America. Although, I wish we could have a huge cake there but perhaps if some sponsors are willing to chip in at the event which God Willing will take place next year at Mubarak Mosque, 4555 Ahmadiyya Drive in Chantilly, they are welcome and can write to me.
Unlike many other 4th of July Independence Day Celebration, this one was really special for following reasons:
First, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was the first Muslim organization that came here in 1900s it got registered in 1920s. This is the only organization that has been preaching tolerance, non-violence even before the word "non-violence" became known and associated with Gandhi. The founder of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the Promised Messiah Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian in India shunned all forms of twisted, fanatical beliefs which were prevailing then and are still prevailing among the main stream clergy of Islam.
Second, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Muslim community which started "Muslims for Loyalty" campaign to educate young Muslims and to those who live in the US, that love for one's country of residence is the part of their faith and Prophet Muhammad has taught and practiced this, contrary to some Muslim Mullahs who practice different from what they say. Celebrating Independence Day is to show how "real" Muslims celebrate and share the same sentiments with their fellow countrymen.
Third, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community launched its campaign, "Muslims for Life" on the 10th anniversary of 9/11 and again the only Muslim organization in the US who since 2011 has donated 20,000 plus blood bottles and according to rough estimate by blood banks, a single blood bottle can save 3 lives.
These were the main reasons I think this made Mubarak Mosque Independence Day Celebration a memorable and special. However, this was not the only reason. BBQ was open to all, along with sponsors such as Giant, Home Depot, Ace Hardware, Office Depot, Costco every one took part in celebrating this event.
Home Depot, brought some handiwork for kids and paints, which kids enjoyed and some today were looking after Friday prayers, at their piece of woodwork which they worked on a day before.
Moon-bounce, Fairfax Fire Fighters and Fairfax Police came with their trucks and cruisers for kids to take a firsthand look.
All in all this was an annual fun event which many others are looking forward for next year's event.
