Assistance League To Benefit From Purchases of Giant Food Reusable Bag

Help Reduce Hunger In The Community

Once again, a Giant Store has selected Assistance League of Northern Virginia to benefit from its programs to address food insecurity where shoppers live and work. Giant has two programs that help reduce hunger locally, and the nonprofit has benefitted from both of them. Assistance League appreciates the recognition afforded it by the Giant organization through its Bloomin’ for Good and Community Food Bag programs. Through the Weekend Food for Kids program, Assistance League annually distributes thousands of food bags to elementary school students and grocery gifts cards to struggling families throughout Northern Virginia.

During the month of May, Assistance League will receive $1 for every purchase of the $2.50 Community Food Bag at the Giant Food store at 13043 Lee Jackson Memorial Highway, Fairfax. The proceeds received from those two programs help Assistance League to continue its efforts to address food-insecurity in the community.
