
The Moran Family, owners of your locally owned Verizon Wireless Zone are participating in the annual Backpack Giveaway for the third consecutive year. Please come out on July 21st from 1pm to 4pm (or while supplies last) for a free backpack. We encourage all families in need to participate and recommend you share this with others. We will be giving away over 125 backpacks on that afternoon.
Wireless Zone®, the nation’s largest retail franchise offering exclusive Verizon products and
services, is partnering with The Cellular Connection (TCC) and Culture of Good to donate backpacks and school supplies to children in need across the country. This year marks the eighth year that Wireless Zone® will host this event, which has donated over 750,000 backpacks since its inception. This year, the event is on track to donate 235,000. The event will be held from 1-4pm at Wireless Zone® of South Riding at 25031 Riding Plaza Suite 125. In the Home Depot/Giant Plaza.
“Every year, TCC and Wireless Zone® employees and their communities around the country look forward to the backpack giveaway,” said Scott Moorehead, CEO of TCC. “It brings our employees immense joy to give back to the young children in their communities, and we are proud to put so many smiles on the faces of the deserving families who help make this annual event such a success.”
More than 1300 Wireless Zone® and TCC stores across the U.S. are inviting local families and their children to visit these select locations on Sunday, July 21st between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. to pick up a backpack filled with various school supplies, including pencils, paper, folders, a pencil box, ruler and glue. One backpack will be given per child present will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
In 2018, the National Retail Federation estimated that the average parent will spend $112 dollars on school supplies, and an average total of $685 on clothing, electronics, accessories and supplies.
