Muhammad - The Messenger of Peace and the champion of women rights

On March 7^th Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA is holding a peace conference titled Muhammad – The Messenger of Peace in Mubarak Mosque, Chantilly VA.  This is the same mosque which was vandalized last year by hooligans. However, despite vandalism Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of Northern Virginia held an interfaith event and invited all its neighbors to inaugurate the mosque by attending the interfaith event.

This year while Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA is holding Muhammad – The Messenger of Peace conferences in all of its 75+ chapters to introduce their Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his peaceful teachings. One such conference is going to be held tomorrow at the regional head office of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Chantilly.

The purpose of this conference is twofold. First to educate about the true character and life of the prophet of Islam, who taught the basic principles of civility, absolute justice and kindness, and equality. The second purpose is to build a bridge of peace with other faiths and to remove allegations against the world’s most peace-loving person the Prophet Muhammad.

The principles that Muhammad taught and practiced 1400 years ago were not introduced in the West until the 20^th century.

Prophet Muhammad ended slavery in such a manner where there was no concept of “affirmative action." Rather, it was his practice and his teachings which brought such a change in a people who were the most racists, the most arrogant, the most illiterate, the most morally corrupt, and were equipped with all the vices which were known to people.

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) championed women rights, declared that women have rights in inheritance of the deceased father, husband or brother, thus Islam being the first religion which conferred upon women the right of inheritance. He provided the utmost respect a woman can have as a mother, wife, and sister. He was keen on improving the condition of women in society and securing for them a position of dignity and equality.

In Islam a woman is the sole owner of her property and her husband cannot control over it by virtue of her relationship.

Annie Besant in The life and teachings of Muhammad wrote, “It is impossible for anyone who studies the life and character of the great Prophet of Arabia, who knows how he taught and how he lived, to feel anything but reverence for that mighty Prophet, one of the great messengers of the Supreme” We hope you join us on March 7th.
