On Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 9am, Metro Run & Walk will host a 6k Run/Walk at Lake Accotink Park in Springfield, benefitting the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter! Olde Towne Pet Resort will be onsite with fun activities for pets, and you’ll meet some great adoptable dogs from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. At the finish line, enjoy a hot dog bar with full fixings and other tasty treats!
The Run/Walk begins at 9am. Due to the pet, family, and stroller-friendly and non-competitive nature of this event, finish times will not be recorded. All proceeds will be donated to the Friends of the Fairfax County Animal Shelter to help homeless pets in need.
Event headquarters is near the Marina at Lake Accotink Park. Use either of the parking lots -- off of Hanover/Highland or Braddock/Heming
