Chantilly Gymnastics took first place at the Concorde District Gymnastics Meet at Centreville High School on Feb. 2 and advanced to the Northern Region Competition. Robinson placed second, Westfield third, Centreville fourth, Oakton fifth and Herndon sixth. The Top 2 teams from each District go to Regionals which are scheduled to be held at Lake Braddock Secondary School on Feb. 10.
Chantilly's Heather Guranysky placed second in All-Around individual competition, tied for first in Bars and placed second in Vault. Teammates Kelsey O'Connor placed third in All-Around, tied for first in Bars, placed second in Beam and tied for third in Floor; Emily Fawcett placed fourth in All-Around, fifth in Vault, fifth in Floor, sixth in Bars and sixth in Beam; Sophie Behrend placed third in Floor and tied with teammate Casie Morton for third in Beam.
