Chantilly Man Remains Hospitalized After Weekend Assault: Police

Neighbors contacted the sheriff's office after the injured victim came to their house on the night of Dec. 14.

CHANTILLY, VA — The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office arrested a 23-year-old man in Chantilly Saturday night for allegedly assaulting a man he had met online. Mohammad O. Shahid of Chantilly was found leaving the victim's residence in the 25000 block of Anthem Terrace and taken into custody. He was charged with aggravated malicious wounding, strangulation, abduction and destruction of property.

Neighbors contacted the sheriff's office after the injured victim came to their house on the night of Dec. 14. The victim remains hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Shahid is being held at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center in Leesburg on no bond, according to the sheriff's office.
