This June, the Chantilly Drama Department will present Cinderella and the
Substitute Fairy Godmother, a captivating children’s show that brings to life a classic
fairytale—with a twist. It’s the night of the royal ball and Cinderella must get to the
palace if she is ever to meet her one true love, Prince Charmfull. But, when she calls for
her Fairy Godmother, it turns out that all the Fairy Godmothers have been taken ill with
food poisoning. Enter Lucretia Fossilwart, scented candle salesman and Substitute Fairy
Godmother. Follow this winding story as hilarity ensues. Director and writer Ed Monk
says, “he loves this show and knows that it is a treat for the whole family. There are jokes for little kids, teenagers and adults."
The cast is comprised of 50 performers from Chantilly High School, split between
two casts, performing on different nights. Stage managers, Sam Jones and Nicole
Paladeau say, “We’ve loved working with all the underclassman to really bring this
story alive! It’s incredibly fun to watch them create silly and creative characters.” The
costumes and technical aspects of this show are just as bright and spirited as the actors
themselves. Little kids and adults alike are sure to enjoy this amusing spectacle.
Tickets can be purchased online or with cash/check at the door for $5 each.
Show Dates: Friday June 1st, 7pm
Saturday June 2nd. 2pm & 7pm
