Fairfax Academy Students Competed Monday in Police, Crime Scene Investigations

Nearly 100 Fairfax County Criminal Justice Academy high school students competed Monday in a series of exercises designed to test their skills and capabilities for future careers in law enforcement.

The event took place at the Academy, located at 14601 Lee Road in Chantilly.

Students in the program, a unique collaboration between the Fairfax County Public Schools and the Police Department, showed off their skills Monday ina series of exercises: 

• Dragging dummies and climb walls as part of a unique obstacle course
• Processing mock crime scenes and trying to determine a suspect based on evidence they’ve gathered.
• Developing composite sketches based on an altercation they’ll witness and describe.
