Shooting In Chantilly Parking Lot Leaves One Man Injured, Suspect In Custody: Police

The police said a suspect in a Chantilly shooting was taken into custody. The shooting occurred in the 14300 block of Newbrook Drive.

CHANTILLY, VA — A man who was shot in the parking of a Wegmans Food Market in Chantilly Saturday night was taken to a hospital with injuries from which he is expected to recover, according to the Fairfax County Police Department.

The police said a suspect in the shooting was taken into custody. The shooting occurred in the 14300 block of Newbrook Drive.

Detectives and officers from the FCPD’s Sully District Station are continuing to investigate the shooting, the police said Saturday night.

After the shooting, several police cars rushed into the Wegmans parking lot with their lights and sirens on, according to a Patch reader who witnessed the police response to the shooting. Police officers jumped out of their cars with their guns — pistols and an AR-15 — drawn, the reader said.
