Napping Suspect Awakens to Lead Police on Chase

Fairfax County Police arrested the man, who was initially sleeping in his car Tuesday on Tallow Tree Place in the Chantilly area.

Fairfax County Police were led on a chase by a suspect Tuesday morning in the Chantilly area that ended in the driver’s arrest, according to police.

The pursuit began in the 3900 block of Tallow Tree Place, Tuesday at about 8:26 a.m.

Police responded to a report of a person sleeping in a car. When the officer approached the vehicle, the driver awoke and sped away, disregarding officer commands to stop.

The driver then struck another police cruiser responding to the scene. There were no injuries. Medhi Aslami, 27, was charged with DWI, speed to elude, assault on police and possession of marijuana, according to police.
