Preschoolers celebrate Veteran's Day at The Learning Experience

Preschoolers at The Learning Experience in Chantilly / South Riding celebrated Veteran’s Day by sending a special treat to those that serve in our military. Children and parents donated Halloween candy of all types, collecting so much that they filled up four large boxes to send to Operation Gratitude. The children were very excited to send such a large amount and also made cards saying “Thank you to our heroes”. In addition, they made cards that could be mailed along with a $500 check to the Wounded Warrior Project. The Learning Experience has an annual Fall Festival in October and they donated all proceeds from a Basket Raffle and Cake Walk to this important cause.
Children at The Learning Experience learn through the Philanthropy curriculum that they can give back to their community in a variety of ways. Moving into the holiday season, The Learning Experience is supporting three great causes. A Food drive will benefit the Western Fairfax Food Pantry, a coat drive will help Cornerstones and as a Toy Drop Off Site we are excited to support Toys for Tots! If you would like to help us in supporting any of these, please bring your donation to the collection bin in our school lobby.
