Struggling During These Turbulent TImes?

Tips and resources for those struggling to survive during these turbulent times.

Every day I am hearing of continued layoffs at all levels of the employee spectrum in the Loudoun and Fairfax areas in all industries, including and especially government contractors and tech companies, and including upper management like CEOs, Presidents, CFOs, etc. It is breath-taking and very disturbing how long it is taking some people to find jobs after getting fired, laid off, RIF, etc. A lot of employees are not even getting severance packages. It is also extremely disturbing that some of these companies are bringing in lower-paid, inexperienced employees and laying off higher-paid employees for the same job. It does not even matter anymore that you were at the top of your game or a less effective employee, everyone is being affected. It seems there's no more loyalty or regard for human life when it comes to Corporate America. It's simply all about the bottom line. Being a business person I understand this, but the ways it is being done are also hard to comprehend. You have no control whether you stay or go, it is what they say that matters and determines all.
