'Chipotle-Style' Thai Restaurant Coming to Rosslyn

Think Chipotle—but with Thai food.

That is what is coming to Rosslyn with Tom Yum District Restaurant, set to open in June.

“This type of service is the choice restaurant for younger people... It’s getting more and more popular, and every cuisine is jumping in,” said owner Mel Oursinsiri. “We would be the first Thai restaurant to get into this.”

Oursinsiri describes the restaurant as fast casual. Like national chain Chipotle and Merzi in Washington, customers will have the chance to add their “base,” protein, topping and sauce to their meal.

The restaurant will be located at 1515 Wilson Blvd. While Oursinsiri had initially been looking for a location in the district, he settled on Rosslyn after researching the foot traffic in the area, which he said will be key to the restaurant’s success.

Oursinsiri also owns T.H.A.I In Shirlington and Bangkok Joe's in Washington.
