Symphonica Nova of the ASO presents guest saxophonist Vaughn Ambrose performing hits from "Charlie Parker with Strings," the Norman Gantz produced album that allowed Charlie Parker to fulfill his ambition of recording jazz and pop hit arrangement for himself and orchestra. Program includes Duke's "April in Paris," Gershwin's "Summertime," as well as several pieces that never made the final recording.
