Kite Runner Cafe Opening Saturday
Restaurant offers Afghan, Indian, Lebanese fusion food.

After months of hard work and planning, the owners of the Kite Runner Cafe will celebrate their grand opening Saturday.
"It took us awhile to get everything done. We built out the layout of the restaurant from scratch," said co-owner Marzia Spanta.
The new restaurant, located at 3800 Lee Highway in Arlington, will offer a fusion style menu featuring Afghan, Indian and Lebanese food.

Homayon Karimy set out to fulfill his dream of owning a restaurant with his wife Marzia Spanta and his brother Timor Karimy. Homayon will serve as chef at the restaurant after previously working for years as chef at Lebanese Taverna.
"Kabobs are our specialty, also the rice dishes. The kabobs are done Afghan style, with a nice balance, not too spicy," Spanta said.

The owners of Kite Runner are looking forward to the grand opening Saturday and welcoming new customers, who will receive twenty-percent off Saturday only, Spanta added.
Kite Runner Cafe is located at 3800 Lee Highway in Arlington and will be open from 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.
