New Owners, Renewed Summer Tradition at AllSpice Cafe

New ownership, new look for longtime Rosslyn staple.

With new management and staff, AllSpice Cafe and Catering in Rosslyn is shaking up the menu and decor and re-starting a summer tradition.

The former owner is retiring, and the restaurant has undergone a renovation from new paint to reorganization. Rich Vizard, a co-owner and manager, said they plan to install a new salad bar in the near future, and reorganize the cashier, sandwich and beverage areas to improve the flow of the café for customers.

The restaurant is kicking off summer with patio BBQs during Rossyln's BID free lunchtime concert and farmers market series, starting May 23. On the BBQ menu will be items such as Tangy Pulled Pork sandwiches, corn on the cob, along with new rotating weekly specials such as mojito lime chicken and smoky ribs.

"We are excited to bring back the popular Thursday patio BBQ from past years," said operations manager and co-owner Erwin Zilker.  Rich and Liz Vizard also co-own and manage the restaurant with Zilker.

Chef Steve Moore, who previously worked for eleven years on the White House Kitchen Staff, is introducing new menu items to compliment customer favorites, such as a chicken hummus veggie pita sandwich.
