Next Week: Help Create a Work of Art
Artisphere's Artist-in-Residence Maya Ciarrocchi requests public participation in her latest installation.

Arlington residents will have the opportunity to participate in video artist Maya Ciarrocchi’s latest installation, "I’m Nobody! Who Are You?" next week at in Rosslyn.
The installation will explore ideas of portraiture, identity, the viewer and the viewed.
Participants will be asked to appear on camera for 30 minutes or less. Ciarrocchi’s only request is that all who take part look directly into the lens. Otherwise, participants are free to move and act as they like.

The aim of the project is to examine how artistic subjects behave when they know their actions are on display and, conversely, how viewers react to knowing the subjects are conscious of being watched.
Ciarrocchi will create the video installation as part of a residency at the local art center. The piece will be filmed, edited and displayed entirely onsite. It will debut at Artisphere on Oct. 1.
