Thursday: Cool Off With A Free Milkshake At Z-Burger In Virginia Square

Promotion valid from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday with password.

Z-Burger is offering free milkshakes from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday in light of the scorching temperatures this week.

All you need is the password — that's "Z-Heatwave — and you can choose from one of 75 flavors.

Z-Burger opened its Virginia Square location about two months ago at 3325 Wilson Blvd. That's on the corner of Wilson and Kenmore, about a block from George Mason's Arlington campus.

"The ice cream is made hourly, fresh," said Peter Tabibian, co-founder of the DC-based chain. "It's hand spun, the way they used to do it."

The ice cream is custard-based, which means it's an egg product high in butterfat, Tabibian told Patch.

Because construction took so long, Tabibian said many people still aren't aware the restaurant is open. Despite that, a typical weekday sees lines out the door from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., he said.
