• Man arrested, accused of trying to meet with girl for illicit purposes (wdbj7.com) — Covington police and the Alleghany County Sheriff’s Office recently arrested a man accused of arranging to meet someone he believed was an underage girl in Covington. Authorities say he faces multiple communication-related charges involving minors and had additional warrants from West Virginia. Local parents are urged to closely monitor their children’s social media activity. 
• VA250 Mobile Museum Experience Coming to Downtown Clifton Forge May 29–31 (virginianreview.com) — Covington residents can look forward to the VA250 Mobile Museum returning to the Alleghany Highlands, this time setting up in downtown Clifton Forge May 29–31 with free admission. Organizers note last year’s Covington stop drew more than 500 visitors, and they’re again highlighting local contributions to Virginia and U.S. history through interactive exhibits and student-focused programming.
