• City of Covington will use $50,000 state grant for new produce packing facility (wdbj7.com) — Covington has secured a $50,000 state grant to turn part of Wiley’s Garden Center into a shared-use produce packing and processing facility, strengthening the local food supply. City partners, including Cucci’s restaurant and greenhouse manager-turned-farmer Jimmy Hogendobler, hope the project will connect local growers with local businesses and be fully open to the public within a year.
