• W&L Presents Screening of the West End's ‘The Audience' (wlu.edu) — Lexington residents can catch a National Theatre Live screening of “The Audience,” starring Helen Mirren as Queen Elizabeth II, at Washington and Lee’s Lenfest Center on May 5 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets, priced at $20 for general admission and $8 for W&L students, are available online or at the Lenfest box office during weekday hours.

• Virginia Department of Health Launches First Perinatal Health Hubs to Support Families Across the Commonwealth (virginia.gov) — Lexington’s Rockbridge Area Health Center has been chosen as one of four pilot Perinatal Health Hubs in Virginia, bringing expanded support for local mothers and babies through June 2027. The new program will connect families to doulas, community health workers, peer support, and other perinatal specialists, with the state tracking outcomes to guide future maternal and infant health improvements.

• Moore Pitches Perfect Game To Lead RC Softball Over Staunton, 21-0 (thenews-gazette.com) — Rockbridge County High School’s softball team delivered a 21-0 mercy-rule win over Staunton in Lexington, powered by senior pitcher Sadie Moore’s perfect game and 13 strikeouts. The Wildcats piled on runs early, flashed error-free defense, and now head to Waynesboro Friday as they continue Shenandoah District play.
