• Lexington City, School Staff To Host Conversations About Proposed Sales Tax Referendum (thenews-gazette.com) — Lexington residents are being invited to three public meetings over the next month to ask questions about a proposed one-percent local sales tax that would fund major school construction projects. City Council will also review the measure Oct. 1, as officials explain how the temporary tax could raise more than $6.6 million for improvements at Rockbridge County High School, Waddell Elementary, and Lylburn Downing Middle.
