Skull Found in Woods Belonged to Homeless Man

Police say the remains found in the woods in May belonged to a homeless man who had been reported missing in February.

A behind on Dale Boulevard in May belonged to a homeless man who had been reported missing in February, Prince William County Police said Tuesday.

Police said the remains belonged to Johnny Cedrick Lankford, 42, of no fixed address. Lankford had been reported missing in February, police said.

The skull was found on May 14, and police said at the time there were no obvious signs of trauma. When the skull was identified on Monday, police said no foul play was suspected.
