Attack, Abduction, Car Chase Lead to Arrest

In a scene worthy of an action movie, a dramatic car chase played out along Dale Boulevard on Halloween night.

Police said Darryl Scott McKeithan, 22, of 14015 Ermine Ct., was driving on Dale Boulevard with a female passenger Monday evening when the two got into an argument. McKeithan became violent and assaulted the woman, police said.

The woman then jumped from the vehicle as it slowed near Forestdale Avenue and ran to find help. She flagged down a car with two men, both strangers, who let her into the car and then drove away from McKeithan, who was still driving his vehicle, police said.

Near the intersection of Dale Boulevard and Minnieville Road, police said McKeithan rammed his vehicle into the car that the woman and two men were in. The men got out of the car and fled on foot. The woman then got into the driver's seat of the car and drove off. She was able to get away and contact police.

Police said the woman was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

McKeithan is charged with abduction, malicious wounding, two counts of attempted malicious wounding, felony hit and run, and driving on a suspended license. He was later convicted on a reduced charge of assault and battery.
