Braxton to Sign With Marshall Today

Coming off a year in which she nearly set a state home run record, Hylton softball star Shae Braxton will sign a letter of intent to play at Marshall University on Thursday.

Braxton's 10 home runs last season put her in second place on the all-time single season home run record list in the state. She , saying that the decision felt right. "You know when something just feels like you're supposed to be there, and it feels like you're in the right place at the right time and this is your moment?" she said. "That's what it felt like."

Braxton will be joining her older sister Kris, who is a freshman at Marshall this year. She said that she was looking forward to playing with her sister again, but the decision was based on the school and the community. Kris Braxton was a senior at Hylton last year when the team .

Shae Braxton will attend Marshall on a scholarship covering full tuition plus books. She plans to either major in physical education or culinary arts.
