Boys and girls ages 8-13 are invited to participate in a free basketball shooting contest on Saturday sponsored by the Elks Lodge.
The contest will be held at the Dale City Recreation Center at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 14. Over three million children participate in the contest nationally each year. Local winners advance to the district competition, where they have the opportunity to move on to state, regional and national contests.
Mary Louise Mawn, exalted ruler of the Woodbridge Elks Lodge on Minnieville Road, said the lodge is looking for as many children as possible from the community to participate in the event.
