Mission 5K Run/Walk

would like to invite you to partner with us in making a real difference in the lives of real people.  This spring, we have the opportunity to enable Word of Faith Ministries in Kiambu, Kenya to build a well in a remote village with no access to fresh water.  As the drilling permits are already in place, our goal is to raise the $13,500 needed to do the actual digging and construction that will offer villagers a chance for a healthier life. 

To achieve our goal, FFC will be hosting a special fundraiser: Mission 5K, a 3.2-mile run/walk race at Leesylvania State Park.  The race will be held May 28, 2011 at 8:30am, and you can be a part of it!

 You have two opportunities to participate.  If you're up for the challenge, come and run or walk with us! Each runner is being asked to contact friends and family and raise donations in his or her name.  To sweeten the deal, FFC will match the money brought in by the runner/walker who raises the most funds.  If running or walking isn’t your speed, please consider contributing by sponsoring one of our runners or walkers.  Every dollar brings us one-step closer to success! 

We at FFC are so confident that this goal is in reach that we have already made plans for any money we raise beyond the $13,500.  In order to help build up the next generation of leaders; we will be making scholarships available to our current and upcoming college students.  Each student will be required to submit a 500-word essay and complete at least 30 hours of service here at FFC in order to qualify.  It is our hope that we can make higher education a little bit more accessible to our young adults in this difficult economy.

 We understand that you may have to exercise greater discipline over your finances in order to take part in this venture, but we believe this is truly a worthy cause.  So please consider either running the race or sponsoring a runner.  With your support, we can make real strides in improving not only individual lives but the wellness of an entire village.  Thank you for your support.
