<p>Two tents belonging to homeless people were burned to the ground when fire broke out at their campsite Wednesday morning.</p> <p>The fire started in one tent around 7:30 and spread to another nearby tent. The tents' owners were not there at the time. Prince William County Fire and Rescue Battalion Chief Joe Robertson said that several discarded propane tanks exploded, sending projectiles flying.</p> <p>Prince William County Fire and Rescue crews put the fire out before it spread to any other tents or the surrounding area.</p> <p>The cause of the fire was unknown. Robertson said that the owner of the tent where the fire began has a heater, but it was turned off.</p> <p>No injuries were reported.</p>

<p>The George M. Hampton Foundation is proudly presenting this year's Gene Montague Memorial 5K. The fun run/walk will be from 8:30 am - 10:30 am at Occoquan Park in Lorton. Funds raised will go toward the Foundation's scholarships for local high school seniors, support of mentoring programs (Omega U) and for fundraising support to health initiatives, such as the American Diabetes Association's Step Out. Registration is $45 up to August 29th and a race shirt is included. Registrations after August 29th are $50 and a race shirt IS NOT guaranteed. Come out and have a great time in support of a great foundation and a worthy cause!</p>
