Nohe Wins Re-Election in Coles

Coles District Supervisor Marty Nohe was reelected by a wide margin Tuesday.

Adding to a good night for incumbents in Prince William County, Coles District Supervisor Marty Nohe won a resounding victory in Tuesday's election over .

With all but one precinct reporting Tuesday night, Nohe had 69 percent of votes cast in the election to Arnold's 31 percent.

"I am deeply grateful to the people of the Coles District for trusting me to represent their interests for the next four years," Nohe said.

Nohe noted that he was one of only three incumbents statewide to face a challenger in both the primary and general election. "The fact that voters gave me such a robust victory both times I believe is a testament to the great work that the board of supervisors has been doing," he said.

Nohe won a majority in each of the 12 precincts reporting. His closest margin came in the Saunders District, where he won 430 votes to Arnold's 347.

Election results came in late in the evening, apparently due to issues with split precincts after . Nearly everyone left the results party before Nohe's victory became official, though the result was never in much doubt throughout the evening.

Redistricting also made an impact on Nohe's race by changing his district lines dramatically. Nohe said that made it a challenge to get out the vote since he did not have the same name recognition in the new parts of his district, but he was pleased with the results. "I think it's the start of a great relationship," he said.
