Police updates: Man Charged with DWI, Child Neglect

A 41-year-old Dale City man was charged with felony child neglect after police say he was arrested for driving while intoxicated Sunday with his 15-year-old daughter in the vehicle.

Police stopped the man's vehicle in the Glendale neighborhood at 9:32 p.m. on suspicion that the driver was intoxicated. Police arrested the man for DWI, and he was also charged with felony child neglect.

Burglaries

A gaming console and related games and equipment worth about $1,500 were reported stolen in the 14300 block of Southgate Court on Saturday. The homeowner told police the burglary happened sometime between 10:40 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Police said there were no signs of forced entry into the home.

Copper piping, an iPod and accessories were reported stolen from a home in the 13700 block of Kaywood Drive on Saturday. The total value of the stolen goods was estimated at $350. The homeowner told police that the burglary happened between 8:30 p.m. Friday and 2:15 p.m. Saturday. Police said a rear window had been broken out.

A rear window was also broken out of a home in the 4800 block of Kenmont Court on Friday. Jewelry worth about $500 was reported stolen. The homeowner told police the burglary had happened between 5:00 a.m. and 5:20 p.m.
