The Great Escape: Busting the Summer Blues

School will be out soon—will you be ready when the summer blues hit? Here are a few escape ideas: 

• Attend a local family-friendly (and wallet-friendly) baseball game at the stadium in Woodbridge. Tickets and hot dogs are $1 every Monday night home game, so it’s a great night to take the whole family for a fun-filled evening. Information and tickets are available here.
• Look for summer entertainment bargains at the Manassas Classy Kids Consignment sale July 13-17 at the Prince William County Fairgrounds (10624 Dumfries Road). This sale offers thousands of items ranging from baby and children’s clothes, toys, books, baby gear, maternity needs, and everything in between. • Join the Prince William Country Library summer reading program at your local branch. Summer Quest is available for all children from infants to 5th grade and prizes are available as reading progress is made. • For an escape into air-conditioning, visit the Manassas Regal Cinema for their summer program. At 10 am every Tuesday and Wednesday morning, kid-friendly movies are just $1 a person.
