Why Go: The Glass Menagerie is brought to life on stage to mark the 100th anniversary of playwright Tennessee Williams’ birth. This autobiographical play takes us to 1937 St. Louis to explore the strained family relationships between Tom, Laura, and Amanda Wingfield. The story develops amid the eternal conflict between the power of memory and the inescapability of reality.

Why Go: Members of the American Red Cross host this eight-hour class for children ages 11 through 15. It will help develop skills in leadership, safety, safe play, basic care, first aid and professionalism to get you ready for a possible summer job.

Pricing: $65 for eight hour class.

Why Go: Women ages 14 years and older are invited to come to learn how to defend themselves and their families. This class emphasizes defense tactics and methods that do not require strength or agility, and real life situations will be covered throughout the course. 

Pricing: $45 for four 90 min classes.

Where/When: , Sunday Feb. 27, 2:00 p.m.

Why Go:  Come out and learn about Bharatanatyam, a classical dance form that is popular in southern India. The dance is made up of three elements: expression through your face and body, dance, and rhythm. Dr. Janaki Rangarajan, who will be leading the class, has performed all around the United States and India, so be sure to come and see his widely acclaimed dancing.

Pricing: Free but registration is required by phone or in person, so be sure to contact the library and reserve your spot.
