ALEXANDRIA, VA — With a month of summer left to go, there's still time to enjoy the outdoors with a furry companion. If you're searching for a new pet, consider starting at the Animal Welfare League of Alexandria's shelter.
AWLA, which runs the city's shelter, is offering in-shelter and virtual appointments for adoptable pets. The group has taken the ALX Promise pledge to meet safety standards during the pandemic.
