Adult Beginner Group Voice Class Starts July 8th
Six-Week, Six-Session Beginner Voice Class (July 8 - August 12)

Preparing a solo for church, or for a wedding? Looking to hone your Karaoke skills? Whatever your goals and chosen genre, this class offers a good introduction to the basics of learning to sing. You will learn about posture and alignment, breath management, resonance, diction, song form, and dramatic interpretation. You will also learn and perform several songs in the process.
Adult Beginner – Age 14 & up

About the instructor: Amy Reiff, mezzo-soprano, has taught voice at Kent State University, Montana State University, and Louisiana State University, and is currently a member of the voice faculty at The George Washington University. She has sung major and secondary roles with many regional and local opera companies. She has performed at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, where she presented a series of lecture-recitals on contemporary American art song. As oratorio and concert soloist, Ms. Reiff has sung with the Arlington Symphony, the Roanoke Symphony, and the Annapolis Chorale, among others. She was the alto soloist for the American premiere of Simon Jeffes’ Still Life at the Penguin Cafe, performed at the Kennedy Center. In addition, she has performed songs of Irving Berlin and Cole Porter at The Smithsonian. She has coached singers who have performed in genres to include opera, operetta, oratorio, musical theater, country, cabaret, and pop.
