Alexandria Drivers Ranked Among Worst In Nation: Report

Alexandria and Washington, DC ranked near the bottom of Allstate's annual best drivers report.

It's no secret that DC area drivers are often considered some of the worst in the U.S. Maybe it's the congestion plaguing the roads that brings out the worst of drivers. But one annual ranking names the cities with the best and worst drivers using one key factor: insurance claims.

Allstate's annual Best Drivers Report ranked 200 cities based on years between claims and hard-braking events per 1,000 miles. Alexandria came in at 192, mirroring poor rankings overall for the DC region.

Alexandria had an average 5.7 years between insurance claims and 26.7 hard-braking events per 1,000 miles. The city dropped two places from last year.
